Knock sensor

Any ideas where to get a knock sensor? I am putting a 350 top in my 305 engine.

Re: Knock sensor

If all you are doing is replacing TBI there is no need to replace KS. KS is a sound transducer tuned to a block - cam - head combination. Each engine combo (350, 305, 267, V6, roller - non roller) has slightly different resonant frequency, as well as knock dominant frequency. So depending on application KS is designed to have frequency response targeting dominant frequency of a ping. Additional frequency selectivity is done inside ESC module - but it is more of threshold detector - amplifier.

In your case, since you are not changing block, heads, cam - I would leave KS alone.

Re: Knock sensor

The knock sensor and ESC (module that the knock sensor plugs into under the dash) are the same for the 82' F-body 305 and the '82 Corvette 350. I recently researched this point.

ALOT of Vans and Trucks have the same pieces between them. I also found out that a LT4 used the same knock sensor as a 1996 C1500 truck with a 305.
