HELP with IAT
I put in a new open air element for my 88' TBI, but I wasn't sure where to put the IAT plug, as there is no place to put it like there was in the stock air cleaner. Needless to say, I melted the top plastic part of it. Do I need a new one, and is it necessary to get one before I drive the car again? Where should I put it if i get a new one?(that is if I need a new one)

Re: HELP with IAT
I know if you leave the IAT unplugged the check engine light comes on. Stock they are mounted in the rear of the air cleaner, inside the filter. I've heard of folks mounting them away from the engine so they'll be cooler and the computer will supply the engine with more fuel but I don't know that that is a sure way to more power (it's just something I read). You can probably get on in your local auto parts store.
