is it normal for the car to idle fast when you first start it? after it starts it runs at around 1500 RPM for about 5 minutes, then it warms up a little and drops to about 1200 than a few more minutes it will drop a little more . are all third gens like this or is it just something that the tbi does or is there something wrong with my car? After it gets hot then the idle in park will drop to about 1000 and in drive it will idle at about 650 RPM.

 

I am not sure but mine does it too. When its hot not so much but when it is cold yes it does the same thing you explained. It kinda makes sense to me why it would do that though.

 

Its perfectley normal...Mine does it too..It will idle that high to warm up then when it hits about 150 Degrees it should idle at about 800 or so in park and about 600 in drive....
