Checked the fuel pump pressure on my 92 305 TBI engine today. Had 6 lbs pressure. Crimped off the return line and pressure did not change. Fuel filter is new. Engine idle speed went up and down as the fuel pressure changed from 6 to 4 to 6 pounds. Anything else to check before digging in to change pump?

Re: Change the Pump
You should check the auto parts store to see if there is a TPI pump in stock!

Seriously, you did what you needed to do; now change the pump.

Or you could order a kit from autoperformanceengineering . I bought the Walbro 190 lph pump kit and have been very happy. I believe that the 190 lph pump will support something like 400 - 500 hp at 13psi

I am looking to buy the same pump. Did you need to order any extra parts from them or did the kit come with everything that you needed? I am thing of getting the extra fuel lines for internal tank use...not sure if they came with the kit. Also is this a good pump for a stock set up? Or is the pump going to be too much. I put in new injectors and rebuilt the fuel regulator (new spring and diaphram). Any advice is very help full.
