TBI Air Cleaner Stud

I feel like this should be an easy thing to find but dang if I can't get a local parts place to source this part for me.

Is there a web resource I can go to to order just the air cleaner stud for my TBI unit? It's become stripped from all the times I've tightened the air cleaner off and on the top of the motor.

Don't hate me for the silly question!

TBI doesn't use a normal carburetor air cleaner stud?

Re: TBI Air Cleaner Stud

Mine is not straight. Makes two 90* turns before heading out the top of the air cleaner.

Ah, ok. Try a junkyard or a dealer.

Re: TBI Air Cleaner Stud

I had the same one in my '89 G30 cube van.
Might have to go junkyard hunting for a TBI van application.

Re: TBI Air Cleaner Stud

some have done the "all thread" from a home inprovemnet store. it's just a threded rod then you put it in a vise and bend it the way you want it to go. becareful of the top and bittom threads though.

Re: TBI Air Cleaner Stud

I found one on Jeg's
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...0002_370365_-1

If the link doesn't work just search "TBI stud"
It's only $4!

12 dollar handling charge! Bah!

For Pete's sake. Thanks for the clue though.

I'm wondering about rethreading the stud... that's possible, no?
