Head Gasket Help
Head Gasket Help
So for about 2 months now my Camaro has been sitting in my garage due to the fact that it has a blown head gasket and thought it was a repair from what I have read and heard that would be capable to complete on my own. When I decided that the repair was to complex and complicated I decided I would call around a couple local shops in DC and was quoted around a whopping 2300!!!! So im stuck in a situation where I can’t afford to replace it or do it on my own so my parents want me to sell the car but I am determined to keep the car that I fell in love with. I have no idea what to do at this point so now my only resort are in the people who read this. Basically my last resort is there anyone out there who knows how to replace the head gasket that would be willing to assist me in the dc region and I would do the best to compensate them with the money that I do have. PLEASE I don’t want to lose my baby any help, tips, or advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Re: Head Gasket Help
My dad took it to sears one day to get some basics done to it like oil change and radiator flushed and found out that there was oil mixed in with the anitfreeze and they told him that it was a blown head gasket.

If there was antifreeze in the oil for any length of time, it needs more than just a head gasket.

Re: Head Gasket Help
It could also be a cracked head too. The only way to find out is to tear it down and have a look. From there you will know what parts your going to need.
Take a digital camera and take pictures step by step so you have a good reference when putting it all back together. Keep your parts marked and well organized.
