nitrous on tbi?

ive been doing some searching, on a stock motor with pump fuel, alot of guys are running a 100-125 shot. i am mainly using this at the drag strip. My brother runs it on his race snowmobiles, and can help me install it, but whose kits are you guys using?

thanks

Re: nitrous on tbi?

I used a nitrous works kit, but if you can find another, dont use nitrous works, i really wasnt pleased with it, directions were not that great, and installation didnt go very well.

Re: nitrous on tbi?

use a NOS tbi truck kit. i had one that worked well and never failed me once. and ive personally run a 150 shot on my LO3 with stock fuel pump. thats about the max id go if that hoping your pump is in tip top shape. 125 would be perfect not too much not too little.

Re: nitrous on tbi?

I also had to use the truck kit. They should advertise it for truck or car cause the engines are exactly the same either in a truck or car

NOS tbi truck kit, that's what I use on mine. I have the EBL controlling when it comes on and off though.

Re: nitrous on tbi?

When i bought mine i checked out both summit and jegs, summit was a couple dollars more but had free shipping, and jegs was a couplel dollars less, but you had to pay for shipping, so they were both about the same but that was 2 years ago.

Re: nitrous on tbi?

nitrous works makes a tbi kit. i think ebay sells those complete kits new. i got mine off a member on here. my bottle either sits between the 2 rear seats or in a backpack on the rear floor below perfect view.

Re: nitrous on tbi?

Do you have any other mods? I found it a lot cheaper to get a carb kit, and then just get the right jets for the TBI fuel pressure. But you have to have upgraded to a carbed intake. I modified/built some brackets for mine, my bottle sits in the back, the blow-off tube runs through the plastic, and out behind the pinch seam for the wheel well. If you modify the brackets right, you can get it all to snug up under there and still close the pull over shade.

Re: nitrous on tbi?

i dont have anything really done to it now except headers and exhaust and a open element air filter. what did you all have to change to get it to work properly. i just want to see what i can do with this 305 being a tbi.

Re: nitrous on tbi?

you can do 13's easy with nitrous. what you need for it to work SAFELY and PROPERLY youll need a bottle heater, nitrous pressure gauge, fuel gauge adapter if they still sell those or tap the fuel lines with compression fittings or something, colder spark plugs, and 100-125 shot stock timing is fine as long as the chip is stock. youll need to test your fuel pressure to see what jets youre going to need. and between the rear seats is your best bet if you dont run a nitrous pressure gauge to a pillar pod or somewhere which i didnt want nitrous lines running everywhere. that way you can open and close it whenever and you can watch the pressure as long as you set the gauge up either one on the bottle valve neck if theres a spot or right after the bottle nut like mine on a fitting which youll also need.

Re: nitrous on tbi?

well the bottle heater depends on if you have a wet or dry system. i am going to get the kit that includes it all. do you guys prefer NOS or nitrous works systems? im not trying to get a bashing between the two i just want to know what your results were. also are any of you running a purge?

Re: nitrous on tbi?

no the bottle heater is recommended no matter which kit you get. plus you wont be running a dry shot on a tbi anytime soon if you wanna keep the motor. so yes you will need a bottle heater. as for the kit i have the NOS kit which works perfect and within 2 years hadnt failed me. and yes i also have a purge but it is dynotune. makes easy work of clearing out the lines after youre all done. didnt really make a difference purging before a race to me.
