Re: stock injectors

The stock injectors will be 55#/hr fuel flow. GM TBI injectors rarely go bad or clog. If they start to drip or leak it is usually the o-rings that seal the injector to the pod.

Remove the air cleaner and start the engine. With some decent light look at the injectors as they spray. It should be a cone of fuel exiting the injector. The cone should be even all around with no breaks. And hit the bore just above the throttle plates.

Re: stock injectors

Thanks for replyI just checked that and they spray ok, but i think that the fuel is getting also outside of the bore to the top TBI unit. I will check tomorrow on better light with a piece of paper, if it will get wet near the side of the bore. I also noticed i little stream of fuel traveling on side of the bore down to the throttle plates after shutting down a engine. I have just a little issue with high rpm idle when shifting with manual gearbox. For example coming to stop lights, it revs at 1600RMP for a while and then it come down to regular idle speed. Maybe caused by to much unburned fuel left in bores. But i don't have black smoke in WOT.
Check the picture, it looks a wet all around.

Re: stock injectors

I checked it again and the fuel is sprayed in the cone, but also there is some amount of fuel, which is probably sprayed to the top of the bore, or its somewhere leaking and then its getting down on the side of the wall. Is this normal or the fuel should be only in the cone, ideally if the cone is reaching the bottom of bore only?
Check the picture, you can see a stream of fuel on the side of the wall.

Re: stock injectors

Yes, that doesn't look quite right. How is the fuel pressure? Also, hot wire the pump on (engine off) and check for any leaking.
