Crossfire needs to go?

Hey guys, iv been here a few times about my crossfire injection problems.. As some of you might know it likes to stall after its ben doing alot of stop and go traffic. Well i wnt to change the thermostat and there was a lack of one in the first place.. so i put one in and it seemd to fix my problems.. for about 3 days. then boom back to its usual "stall and not start back up self". It really gets annoying.. i guess my next step is to put a CTS in it? and if that doesnt work i have no idea what to do other than going carburated.

Re: Crossfire needs to go?

Check your fuel pressure. Fuel starvation can be attributed to a tired FP - take a look at fuel spray from injector during no start cranking.

Re: Crossfire needs to go?

If anything its flooding.. when i go to start it back up i have to hold it to the floor to get it going again.. then i have to sit there keeping the rpms up untill it starts running right again.. wich can take from 2-5 mins. then it will run fine for a little tiny bit.(few mins) and do it all over again.

Re: Crossfire needs to go?

You can check CTS very easy - disconnect harness connector and at room temperature (22C) CTS sensor should read (measured with DVM) about 2700 Ohms. If it reads very high resistance (with warm engine), more than 2700 Ohms - replace it.

Re: Crossfire needs to go?

First question - you have crossfire on an '87 350?? Second question - have you posted your questions on the crossfire forum? The forum is full of highly experienced guys that can really help and aren't ignorant tards that use really cute names for injection systems just because they don't know how to follow a schematic and use common logic to tune electronic fuel injection. The link is http://www.crossfire.homeip.net/cftest/startdefault.asp Give it a shot before you do anything rash.

Common logic my a$$, unless you want to keep the crossfire setup for nostalgia in terms of just keeping the car stock and period correct, well then go for it. If you're out for any kind of performance with it, forget it....but who knows, n1ffer might just have a 450hp crossfire injected small block

Re: Crossfire needs to go?

Are your injectors spraying correctly?

Check your throttle position sensor using a digital voltmeter. It should be at .525 +/-.025 volts.

Are you getting a check engine light?

How about the idle air controllers? Are they in good shape and screwed in tight?

That's about all I can think of at the moment. Ask as the crossfire forum like the other guy said. Those guys actually know what they're talking about and they're happy to help. Just don't mention a carb around there, hehe.

Whenever you're ready to get rid of that "useless" CFI setup, send me a PM Micro

Oh and if that's the original engine in the car, it isn't a 350.

Re: Crossfire needs to go?

Heh, yeah its not the original motor just the intake setup is original, and iv fixed the stalling.. so far.. by replacing the connector for the collant temp sensor... the wires were bare were they went into the connector, i just didnt notice because of all gunk around them lol.
