could someone tell me how you know when you o2 sencer goes out, because i taken mine out of my maifolds two put on my headers, i wouldnt think my tbi would run without the o2 right?? and it fired up like no thang and run like it normally does a little rich at times. Is this the norm for not having an o2 boys?.....and hell 30$ is kinda steep for a little wire that reeds exhaust, so im going to try and clean it up wash it a few times...anyone ever done this or do i need two just go by a new one.....?

 

Normally your engine light will light if your O2 is not working. The ecm "reads" the O2 which send out singles to the TBI to go which meters the amount of fuel your engine should get. I installed SLP headers in my 92RS an along with a 3 wire o2 vice the stock o2.

 

If the NB 02 sensor is disconnected or flat out kaput the engine runs off the open loop fuel and spark tables with no 02 feedback to ECU or possibly the former as well as the limp home chip(calpack). The one time my 02 sensor failed the CE light went on loud and proud. If the CE light only stays on for a short time there is a code you can recover through the ALDL port. Auto parts store can read for free of you can short accross ALDL connector and read the code it releases repeadedly.

 

yea without my o2 hooked in and with it hooked in it runs the same, when i fire her up it loops like it has a cam and then 3 seconds later it runs fine, so it has two be my 02 thanks for the help

 

oh and my Ce light comes on 3 to 5 seconds after i fire her up
