Spark advance problem

I have the 6395 ecm and the car died for me i .
I change in a new pick up and module and set taiming to zero and the enging
ran like crap i can hear that the taiming is retard ?
If i set it by the ear and its run fin but look with the timing lihgt its like 20 degrees before?

If i set it by zero with timing light and set main spark bias to zero in the prom its run better(9.84 degrees in prom).
whats wrong is the ecm burn or wath.

Re: Spark advance problem

Do you need to unplug and block your vacuum advance?

Re: Spark advance problem

One of the four wires from the distributor has a connector you have to disconnect to set the timing. You may need to follow the wiring harness back around to near the AC system to find the disconnect. Oh & go for 10 or 12 degrees advanced.

Note: It is NOT one coming off the coil. That one is for your tachometer.

Re: Spark advance problem

I have set the timing with disconneted timing connetor.
The timing was alright before the car died.
Now it run like crap at 0 deg i think it the wiring or the ecm thats burn.
I want some values to test the cables from the ecm.
