Throttle linkage too long on 5.7L

Hey guys, I'm having some problems with my throttle linkage being about an inch too long on my recently swapped 350. I believe we are still using the linkage from the 3.1 V6, so that might be my first problem.

Should I be running a linkage from a 305 TBI since the van one would likely be way off?

Also, I'm not sure if this matters but while the throttle linkage is about an inch too long, it looks like our kickdown cable for our 700R4 is about an inch too short. Is there some sort of adjusting that can be done to fix both of these problems at once?

Thanks in advance.

do a search but on my 92 700r4 the detent neded to be adjusted of course i pulled slack right at the gass peddle, but it's been 2 years now. especially read the stickie on the engine swap it tells about the different throttle linkage geometry that you have to adjust
