Timing ?

Ok I did the 305 tbi to 350 tbi swap about 6 years ago and haven't really put a lot of miles on since maybe 5-7k.. I have lost some of the thought processes since so ill start from the beginning Put 350 injectors, a new msd style distributor, an accel super coil, k&n filters, at least 91 octane gas, new fuel filter, new plugs and wires, the fuel pump was changed before the swap, new dist cap and rotor bug, new fuel press reg, which is set to 10psi right now, I dont have the data loggers as yet either but I'm been experiencing stalling during acceeration. Right after the swap I was using the stock 305 distributor, eventually he pickup coil went out so I found the msd style one on ebay put it in and it fired right up, little bit of timing issues though...the occasional stall, still have the stock computer and esc and knock sensor, which I know I need to change.... But I never had the stall during acceleration until this distributor, I just timed it to about 8-9 BTD which seemed to me with the cpu unplugged I could give it half throttle or a little bit more and most of the time it would rev like normal sometimes it would try to stall after 1/4 throttle... this is the problem any help weould be awesome...some side facts I cleaned the egr valve tonight it had a little bit of goo but after I put it in with it running I pushed the plunger and it idled down and tryed to die, checked plug gap at .35, besides the knock sensor and esc from a 350 tbi I'm still looking for the answer, maybe not enough fuel?
when I gag the throttle at half or more it revs to about half then just blah just stalls. Tonight I set the timing at 8-9 btdc and it seemed to take the throttle better before it was set by a friend of mine a couple years ago and it was about an inch or so over the timing marker so it was way over 10 btdc but still fired up and ran within reason, hell I managed a little tire smoke the other day before the timing change bt its dark alread here so I couldn't take her out so I guess well see tomorrow... sorry about the length of the thread help

Re: Timing ?

At your place I would look for the complete computer that goes with that 350 and follow the 305 to 350 swap sticky istructions.

Re: Timing ?

Just so I got this straight, I need 350 knock sensor, esc, and the prom from a caprice 350 tbi? When I rebuilt the motor I used an older non roller cam engine, so I'll need the earlier esc and knock sensor right? I found the pair on gmparts direct for 130 bucks, but if it doesn't have to be from a caprice and could be from say a auto 350 tbi truck I could find some cheaper...
