I have a 92 Camaro 305 TBI with a Crane 20/20 cam,Stock L98 aluminium cylinder heads off a corvette,Eldelbrock intake,Edelbrock TES headers and exhauast with cat removed,regular TBI spacer mods etc and a march underdrive pulley. Any Idea how much power this will put down with a mail order chip/tune? Probably not much but I would like to know.

250-300 is a big window nothing a little more precise? Please keep in mind the heads are just stock no P&P job yet.

HAHA your right its a tough question I guess, I was kinda hoping for something within 20hp of actual power. When you said maybe were you meaning the 300hp part or the whole 250 to 300hp? I forgot to metion I bought a rearend from 1990 Iroc with Disc brakes,LSD and 3.73s in it will this help this TBI Camaro wake up some when its on?

You won't get **** with a mail order tune. Get an EBL and tune it yourself. I bet with a proper tune you will see about 260 to 300 RWHP. Throw those edelbrock headers in the trash and get some hooker 2055's.

haha I agree about the headers but truth is this car was my first atempt at moding a vehicle and I still have it even though I havent touched it for 2 years or so.So apart from tunning it I dont really want to spend anymore money on it right now except for what it will cost putting on the rear end, subframe conecters, and MSD I picked up when I bought a crashed IROC.
Anyway those headers have to be better than stock manifolds right?

305s are junk your waisting your time putting vett heads on a 305, my 305 is olny good for gas and thats it.

 

I know but its already done. I just need to get it tuned now.

 

Tell that to fast355 or mw66nova. Both have proven 305's can dominate.

 

Is it a good move to change the pistons in a LO3?

 

i wouldnt worry so much about the bottom end i would worry more about tuning then getting supporting mods

 

Dont forghet the fuel pump, FPR and like robertfrank and markymarco already sayd tuning.

 

will the l98 heads have a small enough cc to keep the compression up? i figured since it was on a 350. the cc would be too big and drop the compression on the 305. i wasnt sure on the chambers on those heads though.

 

58cc on the aluminum L98's or ZZ4 heads. Mine are milled down to 52cc.

 

Is 58cc ok? Yes I really want to get the tuning right. I would be happy right now to get anything over 250fwhp and 300fwhp would be awesome and enough for this car for now.

 

i believe stock the heads on the lo3 are 58cc so it wouldent hurt you it would keep compression around stock if you did just a lt1 cam intake and supporting mods you would see your goal with out having to use those heads

 

Thanks for that and I am sure your right but this cam and these heads are already installed so all I want to now is get it tuned right. I sent the guy at TBIchips.com a mail but I am still waiting for for him to reply.
I dont really have a goal for this car anymore apart from I want it to run and look good but 300fwhp would be nice.
