Open Element Air Cleaner ?'s

Alright....today i had some time on my hand. So i went to advance auto parts and bought an "Edelbrock 1221" air cleaner for 20 dollars. I read the articles on how to install the air cleaner but i had some questions and also it didnt fit. The screw isnt long enough so for the time being i just flipped it over the top(how much would it cost to get a longer one?). And i was wondering what was an air cleaner that doesnt require to buy a longer screw that other 3rd gen people have gone with? because it would probably be cheaper if i buy a different one

But what do you do with the factory breather filter? should i buy a chrome after market one. and should i cover the hole in the exhaust?(where the fixable hose was attached to) let me know thanks

But it was a really easy and fast install

never mind.....figured it out. You can make the screw with the wing longer by unscrewed it a little bit. fits perfect. Sounds good but no real gains. I call it my Eco-V8. "camaro gone green"

Re: Open Element Air Cleaner ?'s

that flexible pipe is called a heat stove. when the car is cold it opens a valve and channels heated air off the exhaust through the air cleaner to make it behave a little better. just set it on the shelf and forget about it.
