Newbie Help..

Hey guys, i was pointed in this direction from some guys on coloradok5.com.. i have a 1987 chevy k5 blazer with a tbi 350. I want to build my own motor cuz my stock one has NO power.. I have been reading like EVERY thread on here, and i feel as if i am in WAY over my head with wanting to keep it tbi and not just go to a carb.

My friend has a really nice motor, but its a carbed motor, stock 350 block, high compression pistons, stock connecting rods, gm casting 492 heads with 2.02 intake / 1.60 exaust and 64cc combustion chamber, a lumpy cam.. i dont have the exact numbers off top of my head. Anyways, im really confused if i can build a motor just like his, but then put my tbi units back on. What mods i have to do exactly, i realize bigger injectors, and mods to my prom computer chip but other than that im not sure exactly what i can physically do to build the motor correctly. I'd love to get something near 300hp or even better around that for torque. Is this a dumb thought? thanks for all the help.. ill put my flame suit on!

Re: Newbie Help..

Yeh most of the stuff you asked is on here if ya search, lol.

For 300hp, make sure you have done all the free mods to your TB, bigger fuel pump [maybe, dont know the how good the one your blazer has is], make your throttle body fuel pressure adjustable

dynamicefi.com
Buy the EBL Flash, if you plan on doing all the tuning yourself grab a wideband o2 sensor too, check innovative motorsports stuff

Intake manifold, get a carb manifold and a tbi to carb adapter plate. Or just buy a edelbrock 3704

Everything else, just search on here.
