Am I crazy?
Am I crazy?
look at the signature for specs... but i came here because there is such a wealth of knowledge on TBI vehicles... I want to go with Dynamic EFI and have no idea where to begin once i recieve the equipment, or how it is compared to something like HPtuners for live tune and such. i know a wideband is really helpful and i wouldn't tune without one. maybe i'm in the wrong section of the forum but if anyone can help me with figuring out a starting point i would appreciate it greatly. also i saw the What's up display and then saw the embedded locker's heads up display and i have to say i much prefer the heads up... is that usable on EBL or some other platform only?

Re: Am I crazy?
You are definitely not crazy my friend. I too am in the same situation as you...bolt ons gallore, cam and now I'm just coming off a heads swap (world 305's). I'm gonna get an EBL this winter and start chiping away at the tuning part. I left a similar thread on here last month and all the other guys said they would try to help me along as much as they could. I will keep an eye on this thread to see how it goes. If anything we can keep in touch and help each other out! Good luck!!

Re: Am I crazy?
I just got my EBL Flash last weekend and had a chance to do some VE learns and whatnot.
First, I think I can say I recommend this unit. I haven't had a whole lot of time to dive into it, but I have been researching it for the last several months.
I think you can get in the game for a few bucks cheaper by going with a moates.net setup or similar, but the whole flash setup is worth the money to me.
Also, having done the self-install, I would pay the $30 for BobR. to do it. It is not really all that hard, but it is one of those jobs that takes a long time... the first time.
I also noticed the older display pics at some point. The newer What's Up Display isn't the most friendly thing to play with while driving by yourself. I thought about asking BobR. if he built the program to be skinnable.
In any case, I believe the older software (embedded lockers) and the new software (WUD) are the same core. EBL I believe stands for embedded lockers, so I think BobR. went in with the guy that did the original GUI, or they are one and the same, just a newer version. I really don't know.
I would love to skin it into something more user friendly. It's not bad if you have a buddy riding with you (which is probably the safe thing to do), but a few shortcut keys would be helpful.

Re: Am I crazy?
You know, you are right. You can also use the Windows standard "ALT + Key" combos. Stupid me. I don't know what I was thinking last night...
Please disregard my prior post in reference to the shortcut keys.
I think the GUI is layed out pretty well for the vast number of screen sizes that might be used. It can run on any old laptop out there, so that part is pretty amazing.
But, I would like to see a skinnable interface, or at least some different layouts. For instance, I would like to have all the menu selections be largish buttons along the top of the screen for TouchScreen use. But, that is really a small section of the population, I'm sure, so I don't think it is a showstopper by any stretch.
