hey guys and gals i just bought a new holley 14" open element air filter for my 92 tbi 305. allright my question is all the original sensors and small hoses that where in there before what do i do whith them now that i have the new unit in. also it was makeing my check engine light come on until i pluged the air sensor back togather, it works fine now, no light but the sensor is out side the filter and before i go and screw it up i figured id ask if some one could supply a picture for me or info on there install. also does the 3/4" black hose or "breather" from the valve cover have to be there or can i cap it off. also thers a small black hose about 1/4" or 3/8" in diameter comeing from the front of my throtle body, what can i do with all this to make it correct or atleast safe for the car?

i would appreciate any comments or suggestions

it seems to rub some weres on the back side bottom right, about 1 oclock if looking at it from frontand im thinking of extending the sleve a little but not sure how to go about that. i wouldnt mind shiming the hood up a little if need be because its as tall as it can get now.

 

if no check engine lights, your good, just cap off all the vaccum lines so no dirty air is pulled in.. Your install sounds like mine.. It runs fine so I assume its right.It just uses 1 sensor, in the breather itself.

 

Did the same mod a couple of summers ago. Here's what I did:

1) Took the PCV valve running from the passenger side valve cover off and put a Breather on.

2) I Drilled a hole in the bottom of the new air filter base and removed the sensor from the factory box and put it in the new one. If you need me to I can take it apart and snap a pic...let me know.

This is a great mod, I noticed nice top-end pull on mine after putting a 14x3 inch K&N + Extreme Airflow lid on. You should be very happy with it.
