Re: how much power?

What TBI unit are you going to run? Keeping the stock 305TBI unit and stock injectors?

Adding a cam and heads like you are planning on doing you will definitely need to upgrade your TBI injectors to at least 55# 5.7L injectors (GM #....5206) and fuel pump as well. Brian Harris at Harris Performance (www.tbichips.com) can set you up with a great fuel pump.

It would also help to have your TBI unit modified for increased airflow. I highly recommend www.CFM-Tech.com for the TBI unit and injectors and his Powerplate/TBI spacer and injector pod spacer.

In about a month I will have my TBI setup and injectors for sale along with the adjustable fuel pressure regulator that is on there now. I have several other ones that are nice if you desire one. I am upgrading my system. Scott at CFM-Tech is awesome and will help you out.

As for hp, that's a tough one for me to answer. Someone else on the board could give you a better understanding. Many say that a stock 305TBI had 170hp, but those who dyno them beg to differ considerably. From what they are saying a stock LO3/305TBI is in the 155-160hp range. I would "guesstimate" that your new setup should be between 275-280hp. Again, that is a guess based on your setup.

If you have the option of finding a nice 5.7L/350 block I would rather see you do that than to put all that money into your 305. Find one cheap and then rebuild that one. I think you will be much happier.

Have you purchased your Edelbrock Performer TBI intake or anything else yet?

Re: how much power?

The stock 305 injectors are #55 . The 5.7's 5206's are #61

Re: how much power?

www.injectors4u.com "Motor Man" does my injector cleaning and flow testing/matching with a print-out.

"Reconditioned Fuel Injectors are OHM tested, energy loaded and OHM tested again, this qualifies the coil's condition.

Utilizing an ASNU model ultrasonic flow tester, mated with our high volume vacuum pump we can reverse the flow through the injectors while they are being cleaned ultrasonically. Removing any contamination rearwards out the larger fuel supply hole. Cleaning the fuel injectors internal body parts to an ASNU condition.

The fuel injectors are now flow tested on the ASNU model ultrasonic flow tester and matched together by sets. Improving the consistency of fuel delivery to the engine".

Injector part numbers and flow rate:
5235279 or -307 is mid 40's# (305TBI)
5206 is 55# (for 350TBI)
17084327 is 65# (cop car/350TBI)
5231 is 90# for 454

So, there ya have it, lol. Too much confusion on this board about injector flow rates for TBI's. Everyone has their own opinion on flow rates for some reason and everyone has "bench" tested so, who do you believe?
