Engine rebuild question
Ok, many of you guys on here have helped me before so this is obviously the right place to turn to
well starting the point of this thread off, I have an LO3/T5 combo in my camaro. The engine as it is runs strong and reliable, but my plans for the somewhat near future is a rebuild. For the best combo of fuel economy, power, and fun.
the question is however, what would the cash and time requirements be if I were to pull out the 305, had it bored .30 over, had the block machined, and putting in a light weight but strong rotating assembly complete with a full balance.
I'm mainly just looking for the price of machining + the bottom end parts
I can figure out the whole top end myself, but my inexperience leaves me hanging on the lower
I want to steer away from a 350 TBI swap(350 bare crate engine from jegs) because I honestly have it programed in my head somehow that the 350 will eat my gas, when I know it wont. but if worse comes to worse and a rebuild is too expensive for my budget I would consider this:

thanks again
