looking to buy 305 S/R torquer heads, are they a direct bolt on?

All i want is a nice step up from my stock heads, ive read the the S/R torquers are a good way to go.

My question, obviously there are several world S/R heads, which ones will be the most direct bolt on head for my car. Is there any modifications needed or are these a bolt on and go? Part numbers and where to buy these heads are welcomed!

My plans for the motor only include these heads, eld. intake, and cam. just to give you the idea of what extent i plan on building my motor.

Im sure others will say go with the vortec heads and get the vortec intake to go with it. But if you want a direct bolt up the world heads are not bad..

I got the world heads(for the same reason), they do for the most part bolt up. you will need adapter bushings for the fan switch in the pass. head and the dash temp sender in the driver side head. the sensors have a smaller thread than the world heads. they also have the same 58cc chamber as stock but use a 350 head gasket, not a big deal though.

Im happy with them but they are heavy like others have said.. get them worked over and ported before you put them in.

heres a link they dont go under the name torquer any more but its the same head http://www.jegs.com/i/World+Products...750-1/10002/-1 it even has the bolt hole angle for the 87-up intakes.

what kind of intake do u plan on using? cam?

Re: looking to buy 305 S/R torquer heads, are they a direct bolt on?

Thanks,

I really dont mind that they are heavier then say the alum. heads. Im not into racing so much that weight is a factor for me.

I already have a preformance T/B and a Edelbrock RPM intake, im waiting to make up my mind on heads so i can have everything port matched before i install it all. Im pretty sure im going with the S/R torquers so i hope to have the here by Christmas

As for a cam I was thinking about going with a 210 / 220, .480 / .480 112 LSA cam from comp cams. Im unsure because i don't know much about cams so ill do some more research on that.

world comes in a smaller chamber of 58cc. Is that not what a 305 needs?

I believe 305 heads tend to be 58cc.

Re: looking to buy 305 S/R torquer heads, are they a direct bolt on?

Hi Guys,
I am doing the same, just want to make the L03 a little more fun. Just want a bunch of bolt ons till I can get a nice 350. The World heads are what I am getting, was planning the Turbo-city high flow throttle body. does anyone have suggestions on intake and cam. Again part numbers would be very helpful. Also I am planning on keeping my stock hood, so I need this stuff to fit. Thanks
