Code 42 normal when setting timing w/ EST disconnected?
Is it normal to get a code 42 stored after very recently running a 1988 TBI for several minutes w/ the EST wire disconnected to set the timing? Or does the code 42 indicate there is something wrong w/ the ignition module or its wiring?
Thanks

Yeah it's normal...due to setting the timing. Just clear it with a scanner, or unplug the ECM fuse (wait 30 seconds or so), if that doesn't work the negative cable will need to be dropped from the battery (wait 30 seconds or so) then reinstall.
