so ive almost got the new motor together..

so ive almost got the new motor together..

So i snapped a few pics of it..its purdy heh. I think im gunna either have the valve covers powder coated black or paint them with a crinkle finish...havent decided yet. This is what you call a "budget" motor. I think all together i spent like...just under...idk..400$? to get it to where its at now. Probably could have came out to like 1/2 of that if it didnt need a new crank since the old one was toast. But should be a stout little performer when its done and of course its staying tbi.

Not trying top be a jerk, but you've got paint on every surface where there is supposed to be a gasket. I'm not for certain, but several people have told me that paint on a surface where a gasket is supposed to be will result in a very bad or non functioning seal.

Paint comes of nice and easy with a scraper. But while it sits in the garage i wanted it painted up since i dont know when i will be doing the motor swap. Ill reprep the gasket surfaces later

could be a turbo feed line.

This is what wrinkled powder coat looks like on my set of aluminum die cast valve covers.

Just be careful scrapping the paint off. I know for a fact that when the surface that a gasket sets on gets scratched, bad things happen.
