TBI ECM issues/questions

Hello, long time no post.

I am currently helping my Neighbor do a 305tbi/700R4 swap into his 95 Jeep Wrangler(YJ) We bought a Painless harness and bought all the TBI parts from a Camaro at the local salvageyard. We grabbed the ECM, all the sensors, relays, Intake, Distributor and Throttlebody from the Camaro. The Camaro was either a 88 or 89(can't remember).

Anyhow we have everything wired up but we are not getting injector pulse, I have power to one terminal on the injector plugs but not both like I should have IIRC. The ECM service number is 16127501, I can't find any info on this ECM. I am beginning to think this ECM has VATS which of course would cause our troubles.

Does anyone know anything about this ECM? Does it have VATS?

THanks

Randy

You might try asking in the ECM/programming section.

The '88 MY did not have VATs. While the '89+ MY's do have VATs.

The other item is to be sure that the ECM, injectors, ignition coil, and fuel pump have power during cranking. Many circuits turn off during cranking, which can drive you crazy if one of the above is on one of those.

RBob.

Thanks RBob, Since I have just been trying to get an intial start I have ran the power wire for the coil and ECM direct to the battery so I know I am getting power at all times.

I checked and I only have power on one wire per injector.

Well either the ECM has VATS or the ECM is junk. I installed a "7747" ECM from a Astro van and she fired right up.
