Best intake manifold for my motor

I currently have the Edelbrock 3704, but im going to be adding my super charger to my car and I figure I might as well get the best manifold I can.

heads are 113 vette heads, cam is comp xfi268, supercharger is a whipple 6psi
I dont have EGR

Yes that is a good adapter! Its the same one ive been using for 2 years and no problems. As for intake manifold I would think that a good single plane would be the way to go!! Lots of choices out there Holley/Edelbrock/Weiand etc. I would assume that the whipple is a side mount style?? You may want to change the cam to a blower style while your at it?? Just my thoughts. How is the XFI268 cam?? How was it to tune etc. Just wondering??

Re: Best intake manifold for my motor

The supercharger is a top mount, it has a couple adapter plates that allow it to use the TBI bolts. Its a TBI supercharger they made a number of years ago.

The XFI268 is actually the cam comp recommended for me to use with the supercharger. I had a dyno tune on it, and it runs pretty good now. But if you have wideband, its a very streetable cam and shouldent be hard to tune.

Any particular features I should look for in a single plane? Maybe a couple recommendations I can look at?

I would look for a good quality single plane that has a decent amount of extension with the plenum dividers. You should get a more consistant fuel mixture that way. Also something with a little bit of roughness to the plenum floor. It helps to atomize the fuel, even though you will be forcing it through anyway. I think last time that I looked the edelbrock victor jr was a good choice as well as a weiand. Just my opinion though!!! So you are currently running that cam with a good tune then?? I do have a good WBo2 and do my own tuning. I was planning on a head swap this summer along with that cam possibly. Just wanted to know what it ran like etc. Thanks

Alright thanks for the tips.

And if the comp cams xfi268 suites your application, go for it. I have no problems with it, in fact I wish I maybe went even bigger, lol.

mind if i ask what results you got on the latest dyno pull? i remember you had some spark issues right? i thought you were using the LT4 cam though.
are you running the s/c on the stock bottom end?

Re: Best intake manifold for my motor

Weiand make a low profile single plane called Xcellerator. I would suggest you look at it. you will need a 2 bar MAP sensor. I am sure you know that. And an ECU that can handle boost. Or one can use a fuel management unit(FMU) that may have been used for TBI when that product was developed in lieu of a correct ECU. that is not the best option.
A VAFPR is suggested as well. Aeromotive is a good choice.

Re: Best intake manifold for my motor

I use the xfi268 cam and have LT4 springs on the heads.
It made 195hp/300tq with the incorrect spark plugs. I plan on going back to the dyno as soon as I get some money to see what I have now. My friend said I should easily see 20 more horsepower with the correct plugs, the ones I had in there barely got inside of the head, the threads were too short.

I have an aeromotive VAFPR. Not sure about the other stuff.
The supercharger just had a Whipple chip for the ECU, that was all it came with.

I will check out the Xcellerator.

I'm going for the Performer RPM myself. I have been researching it for awhile now. Might be something worth looking into.

Since youve done the research, and I havent. Whats the advantage of the Performer RPM over the Xcellerator?
