crank no start

thought it was a fuel pump cause it aint kicking on. BUT payin a lil more attention I noticed the only warning lights that are comein on is my infl rest and seat belt lights then when u crank it they stay on and the brake light comes on.
meaning EVERYTHING else stays dead includeing the check engine light.
could it be the computer just died on me? no joke just rolled off the tow truck 10 minutes ago. it my primary ride so any help as fast as possible would be appreciated

Re: crank no start

Ok if you aren't hearing the pump I don't think OBD1 would really pick that up. Check your injectors when you're cranking the car to see if they're spraying any fuel.

Re: crank no start

yeah already did. injectors arent spraying. no fuel. to late to check spark. I dont think the computer if firing up the system. I dont know I dont wanna get a computer cause I am so close to getting the new motor together. if I gotta get a comp it'll be just a big waste for 2-3 monthes

Re: crank no start

You can check Ignition module, fuel pump, fp relay. Have you checked for any codes? That could help point you in the right direction.

Re: crank no start

Also you can try starter spray into the tbi while turning it over to rule out if its fuel related or ignition.

Re: crank no start

OK!.....got it figured out.
my rad cap was leaking and filled a connector where I had to replace the powerwire to the pcm and for some reason the coolant burned through the wire and connector so the car would crank but not start so the computer was dead. took me and my engine builder to figure it out and it was right infront of our faces. first thing on the car that was simple and easy. go figure
