TBI ECM interchang question.

I wondered if you can use a 8746 ECM in place of a 7747. If so do you have to swap chips or change the pin locations in the wire hareness. Thanks a lot

Re: TBI ECM interchang question.

Hey, found this while searching the internet I don't know much more tho. You'll probably need a custom chip made. Or make your own, Thats what im in the process of learning how to do.

"The '8746 has an almost identical pinout as the '7747, with the only
real exception being the IAT sensor -- '8746 has one, '7747 doesn't."

What is your reason for changing? From what I gather 7747 ECMs are more common and the same if not slightly better than the 8746...

Anyone else have more?
