Lifters

I have a 92 Camaro RS. I am looking into replacing my ticking lifters. I need to know what kind I have. Do I have hydraulic flat tapet? My enigne code is E, 305 V8. I think that is what I have. Thanks for the help.

Many members (myself included) have explained numerous times how to adjust lifters.

A search would help.

Your lifters need to be adjusted, not replaced.

Re: Lifters

If it is still the factory engine it is a hydraulic roller. Odds are if it is a lifter that is causing the noise it doesn't need to be adjusted from driving around, only after you pull it apart. If it is a lifter that is causing the tick, it probably just won't pump up correctly or could have jacked up the dogbone it sits in from sludge buildup from being parked for a long time then started up and driven without a teardown inspection/ cleaning.
