from reeading and researching and just plain out loggin some hours on the computer, i think i might have the list of things i want to do to my 305.
(keep in mind im new to the chevy game, and i was straight ford before, so im looking for suggestions and help, not anything else really.)

1081 heads(ported and polished), shaved pistons.
3" exhaust, with headers(help me decide on headers im on a budget), no cat.
tbichips.com's stage1 chip for now.
advance the timing
gm tpi fuel pump to compensate for fuel(where can i find one?)
remove smog pump(yes or no?)
edelbrock performer intake bored to 2 inches.but what kind of intake? i want to do one like the tpi and run a ram air system thru the front bumper/ground effects.
oh, and what kind of gears should i run in it? i have no clue as to what gear ratios are or anything. so please help with that too.
i cant really find the cam that would work best with this set up. i just wanna get the internals and the main motor out the way before i do bolt ons and stuff first. i just want my 'maro to be quick, and quick enough to beat some competition between friends, not break records. please let me know what you think and any feedback is greatly appreciated.
