LT4 Hot Cam
Ok, so I have a question for you guys....I have been reading a lot of info on this cam selection for the LO3, both good and bad. What makes this a bad choice for a street driven LO3 if you have the other mods in place to support it? Thanks for the help.

you'll need better flowing heads . . .

Evening Fueled, better heads would be on the list to do. Just wondered for street use on the LO3 if there was a better cam choice and if so what/why?

Re: LT4 Hot Cam
there would be no benefit in using a cam that size on the stock L03 heads.

Yes, this I understand. The much better set of heads and cam would be installed at the same time.

Re: LT4 Hot Cam
I would also add better internals, that cam will move the powerband up considerably.
This is the stock LT4 cam in a 350 with decent heads http://www.grandsportregistry.com/lt1vslt4.htm

Re: LT4 Hot Cam
This is the cam im going to be using in my build and from what ive read, nothing makes this cam a bad choice so long as you have the supporting mods for it (proper intake, exhaust, heads, tuning, fuel). The only thing i can think of that would make this a "bad" choice is that gas mileage will suffer simply because of the size of the cam, especially in a 305. its not exactly a smooth idleing cam.

Re: LT4 Hot Cam
The LT4 hot cam is similar to that of the comp cam XE268H used in a 305 popular hot rodding did and made 370hp/350tq. http://www.popularhotrodding.com/eng...cks/index.html
also theirs a member on the boards that's running a LT4 hot cam that i talked to his names "mrbrisk" his bottom end is completely stock. http://www.youtube.com/user/mrbrisk#p/u/7/MpmS8_HUdnk
The thing that iv really took note to is in any hop up 305 the max TQ always seems to come in around 4,500 rpms. and the HP climes above and beyond a safe usable power band like 6k or more and its going going GONE!!!!!! just read the dyno sheets that are out there. its more then likely due to the bore size not any combination of parts that are used.
