Knock sensor location 89 LO3

In removing my exhaust manifold, I broke a sensor on the passenger side of the motor...Is that the fan switch, if so where is the knock sensor located on an 89 LO3??? I know on the drivers side is the temp sending unit....Thanks, Tom

Re: Knock sensor location 89 LO3

If what you broke is in the cylinder between 6 & 8, that is the fan switch.

Knock sensor is further down, right above the pan rail in front of the starter.

Thank you very much..Yes it was the fan switch....This job has turned out to be a nightmare..My whole car is in pieces the only thing left in is the motor....Hotchkis subframe connectors are the worst fitting thing I have ever seen, wish I would have gotten something else...Tom
