Edlebrock 2102 Cam & Lifter Set
My buddy was cleaning out his garage and came upon an unopened Edlebrock 2102 Cam & Lifter set (Specs are 204/214 and lift of .420/.442.) He gave it to me , would it be useful in my 1990 RS 305 TBI ? I'm not an engine guy by any means but the interior mods are almost done and I would like to try to get more HP out of it before I go for the paint job. I do plan on replacing the exhaust with a new cat back setup as well as some sort of RAI setup.

I'm not a cam expert, but the Edelbrock cam you have is a Flat Tappet cam kit and the stock cam in your 1990 TBI is a Roller Cam. If I remember right you will have to change the Push Rods for Flat Tappet and remove the Roller Lifters and hold downs for the roller valve lifters when you install the lifters for the Flat Tappet Cam. I would say that it will work if you have someone that knows what he's doing install it. Don't take to much of a cam to make more power than the stock peanut cam that in the 90 305 TBI. You may have to do some computer chip tuning also. Edelbrock lists the cam as non compatible for computers. Hope this helps. Maybe someone in the know on this site will chime in. Good Luck.
