Re: air cleaner/hood clearance
yeah I think so. Most guys are running a 14X3 do a search. Drop base may not clear unless you use the stock gold ring thing. If that's the case you might just get a flat base cleaner. Again do a search.

Re: air cleaner/hood clearance
I searched and got confused, I guess the part I overlooked was dropped base and flat base differences. Thanks

Re: air cleaner/hood clearance
ok I did a little search and from what I have seen. 14x3 with a 1/2 inch spacer drop base mostly clears. some have said a raised base with 14x2 air cleaner. Id take the bigger air cleaner myself. Dont hold me to any of this I have not done that and I have more room to work with (cowl hood). Good luck.

Re: air cleaner/hood clearance
I found a 1/2 spacer for 6 bucks which means I can get the dropped base to fit. Would it be easier to get the centered base 14x3 to fit without the spacer? Having a cowl hood must be nice for clearance issues never wanted one till now

If you use the drop base be sure to wrap the coil wires with plastic wire loom all the way to the coil. You may even want to use electrical tape on the bottom side of the base plate were the coil sets and even around the coil wires and wire loom.. Any thing to keep the coil wires from directly touching the bottom of the metal base plate just as a extra precaution.
