Cams and the 305 tbi or carb
Cams and the 305 tbi or carb
So I was wondering what happens to all those people who buy a big cam high duration cam for there carb or tbi 305 and pop it in thinking it will work?
How would the motor behave?
With an automatic 700r4 I assume you could just do manual 2nd and 3rd and with a 4 or 5 speed it would run just fine keeping it wind up with a wider lsa for midrange torque.
Would the hp even increase or just make our powerbands longer?
Since our tbi lo3 and lg4 have low lift low duration cams I have seen some people do this but I dont know if it works or breaks or what. Do they always buy stronger springs and roller rockers?
They do a lot of drag racing in my town and many junkyards have old low mileage motors with different 350 cams in them and lots of people here drive thirdgens.
What cam would you recommend I pull from what motor and what heads combo or how would stock heads flow at extremly high rpm?
