1/4 mile quick TBI
Re: 1/4 mile quick TBI
this all started about tbi. I don't remember it being specified to a 2 or 4 barrel tbi. seems as though you are trying to limit what people can due with tbi to try and prove a point like in the other thread. it has been done and will be done again.

but id love having a 305 tbi car with an exhaust for a daily driver
Re: 1/4 mile quick TBI
I suppose anything is possible with TBI. Just need to throw a lot of money at it to achieve big HP levels. Just a matter of practicality and understanding its limitations. There is also the issue of drivability seeing that TBI is a wet system with injectors above the butterflies. I forget but there is someone on the Forum that has a 454 BB with TBI. Under ____ who might that be? Do you recall?
In hindsight I never should have started modifying my TBI. I should have gone to port fuel day one. But I did not. But soon will. This will be stroker motor.

Mine is a 91' base firebird LO3 TBI w/T-5 ... All internals are stock .. Last time i was at the track the mods were 1.6 roller rockers ,summit shorty headers , full 3" exhaust into flowmaster cross flow muffler , CFM tech 620 CFM TB & spacer , open element , and 4.10's with posi and UMI torque arm .. Best time was 9.93 (i believe)in 1/8th .. On off brand street tires spinning 60+ ft. Oh also had a tbichips.com custom chip at the time

Re: 1/4 mile quick TBI
I ran a 9.824 last night at 71.5 mph with 6.366 339 and a 2.229 60ft spinnin pretty bad and my tune ain't right either I was running 11.0-12.0 afr in most areas with a few
Being 12.0-12.4 .. Also had some slight retard in a Few cells .. I thought it was prett good for a mostly stock LO3 .. What y'all think ?
Oh and the SFC's , FPR , and under drive pulleys in sig are NOT installed yet everything else is

Re: 1/4 mile quick TBI
I will post a pic of analysis screen .. I did have a few random knock counts here n there mostly from 4000 and up cause I haven't done much tuning there .. I actually hit 5600+ rpm once on accident and definitely haven't done any tuning there but it was rich so no mechanical failure .. I think I could get this thing in te sub 9.50 range with some torque arm tuning, tires, and ebl tuning Mabey even without tires ! .. The tune is still way off from perfect I think ima reduce AE PW by about 10% .. How do I adjust the AE filter to have less AE over a longer duration ? Thanks for any tips ppl !
This pic is a 1st-2nd shift the 0% tps at top is the shift point .. Next pic will be a 2-3 shift

Re: 1/4 mile quick TBI
the smaller the filter # the quicker the onset and longer duration. You have two filters one AE TPS and other AE MAP. If AE event makes INT go down(pulling fuel) too much AE.

Re: 1/4 mile quick TBI
I have my BLM and int locked @ 128 so idk .. From the analysis above my AE kicks in and AFR goes rich and DC% goes way high but it runs decent so it ain't getting all the AE that is being commanded due to max DC .. So I think I need to reduce tps AE by atleast 10% .. My first run was 10.24 then I reduced the three high load VE Columns by 5% and ran a 9.82 and gained 1mph

Re: 1/4 mile quick TBI
I'm not trying to "limit" anything. I'm simply pointing out that, If anyone has run 12s in a 2 bbl tbi, without nitrous, or drag radials, in 10 years, I've never seen them post it on here.
Considering all of the discussion and debate there's been on that subject on here, if anyone ever had done htat, they would have put it up.
