350 TBI swap. HELP!

hey guys, i just did a 305 to 350 TBI swap. i'm now using a ecm, esc and knock out of a 92 caprice w police pakg. My car is not idleing well and will not rev above 2500 rpm. I do have a manual tranny. I am also waiting for the right injectors to come from rockauto to come. Let me know what you guys think.

If you have the ECM from the cop car and the injectors are from the cop car you should not need injectors...

As far as the other stuff do you get a check engine light? What are the codes?

Double check your firing order, make sure the tbi base gasket isn't leaking. Make sure theres no vacuum to the egr at idle.
Make sure you unplug the timing connector when setting the timing, it should advance when you rev it.
You may have low fuel pressure or if you have 305 injectors it might be running lean.

No check engine light. I ordered new injectors, still waiting for them to show up. I thought it would at least ide with 305 injectors. would the tps sensor be different, just wondering.

Ok I have put in the 350 injectors, set timing to 0. there is some vacuum at egr at idle. Engine still will not rev above 2500. No vacuum leaks to be found.

Re: 350 TBI swap. HELP!

Ok double checked firing order it is right, fuel presure is good 12psi. I did notice that after I set timing to 0 and plugged the computer back in. the computer advanced the timing so much the noch on the balancer is almost on the pass side of engine. any thoughts?

Re: 350 TBI swap. HELP!

thats Normal for the Timing to Jump. 180 out it would pop through the intake. its not the TP sensor, they dont change Values for throttle % for diffrent CID motors. Bigblocks are the same as a 2.8 V6.

Ive had a egr Stick open before, Stick your Finger in it and see if its open. Both inj. are firing?

Re: 350 TBI swap. HELP!

The stumbling/misfiring doesn't happen until 2500rpm regardless of the gear. Might hafta check the valvespring rate.....runs good then all hell breaks loose and engine falls on its face.
