312 tbi?
ok so i have a stock 305 tbi and my friend is selling a 312 that was originaly a 305 tbi that he swiched to carb the motor is all redone and makes about 300hp on the dyno im looking at geting the motor and putting the tbi back on it with the ebl flash and i was just wondering if the stock tbi system like the fuel pump and everything would work with the motor and if not what i would need to make it work.

Re: 312 tbi?
bigger fuel pump. being bored out isnt much really. if the heads have not been changed its really not worth it. but you need a fuel pump upgrade regardless.
going thru all that work, might as well go a 350 TBI.

Re: 312 tbi?
The stock L98 fuel delivery might work. You need about 19 PSI of pressure, so a higher rated fuel pressure regulator needs to be used as well. The stock one goes up to somewhere between 12 and 15 PSI.
I'd advise to pick up something like a Walbro 190 lp/h or 255 lp/h instead.
Still, provided you fit all that and the stock TBI setup, you might see slightly less power then the carb setup, because of the difference in intake manifolds.
I guess it'll be hard to fit an Edelbrock RPM with TBI plate under the stock formula hood, but maybe the Edelbrock TBI intake could be used.

Re: 312 tbi?
Yes, that will work. At the lower fuel pressures they flow a lot more fuel. In this regard do not get a 255 l/ph pump. It will overwhelm the stock FPR and return line.
If going with a TPI pump be sure to get an AC Delco pump.

Yes, listen to Bob, and be sure to pickup an AC Delco fuel pump. Do not let any auto store try to sell you on an AirTex fuel pump, as they'll try to tell you that AirTex took over production. They are garbage, and they are unbelievably loud, believe me. Stick with an AC Delco pump....

Re: 312 tbi?
Consider a low profile Weiand Accelerator(single plane) with adapter plate for clearance?
May want to opt for 7.4L TB at that time. Aeromotive FPR has 5-20 and 20-60 springs.
top down solutions sells a spring that goes 12-18 or so.
