is boreing a 305 .040 over safe?

just curious

which route did you end up taking?

The LS1 swap

the 312 cid with carb

rebuilding the existing 305

would you be willing to share with us the costs and time it took?

Boring most 305s to .040 is usually safe. It might be on yours, too.

only bore to .040 if you have too. otherwise keep it stock or do the minimum overbore possible that you can get NEW pistons for.
