Throttle Linkage With Vortec Heads?

What kind of bracket are you guys using with your vortec heads? Is there one I should look at buying or do most just modify the stock bracket? I'll be running the Performer RPM for vortec heads (p/n 7116) if it makes any difference. Pictures would be appreciated. Thanks!

The heads shouldnt change the throttle bracket you'd need....the throttle bracket bolts onto the intake I think the perofmer rpm will be missing the holes for the one side where it share's a mounting hole with the coil. but some clever fabrication would cure that id say.

Because the intake bolts to the heads with vertical fasteners rather than the conventional angle, a unique bracket is required.

I ended up using just the base portion of this and modified the stock bracket to work with it. The location for the cruise cable was wrong and the hole was too big (yes, I kept my cruise control but it needs fixed). I also used this bracket to anchor the EGR tube which runs from my #7 header primary up to the intake, which is also Vortec. In the second pic, you can see where I cut the mounting tab off the stock bracket, then drilled a hole in the side to attach it to the base of the Vortec bracket.

Awesome! Exactly what I was looking for. I wasn't having any luck using search (not that I'm the best at finding info on the internet anyway). Thanks.

Thanks for pointing that out. That was the reason I was excited to find out about the Edelbrock bracket because I wanted to keep my cruise control. Too bad it doesn't work out of the box. At least that sounds easy enough to rig up though. Any other issues with it that I should be aware of? The tv and throttle cables mount up without issue?

Re: Throttle Linkage With Vortec Heads?

I can't vouch for the throttle valve cable since my manual transmission doesn't use one. Doing it this way though, I don't see a reason why there would be a problem with any of the stock cables, it is the stock bracket, just mounted different.
