lo3 + gt45?
Ok so I'm turboing my stock inturnals 305 it has 81000 miles on it and I was just looking to get some imput on what you guys think like how long will the motor run and such. I'm only going with 8to 10 psi.
Re: lo3 + gt45?
this will all depend on your foot and brain. i would do a compression check on the engine first. also does it smoke any at all even just on start up. it will also count on keeping the rpm's in the stock range. this is just the engine part. im sure people will tell you that the l03 like i have is a dog. which it really is. the 3 things i believe will help the best.
1. be smart about it
2. dont expect it to be real fast afterwards
3. expect things to break.

With low boost and the anemic stock output, the engine probably wont be the issue unless its run real lean or something. The trans may cause some headaches, though. The T5 isnt real strong, and wont stand up to a lot of torque. Doubly so with numerically low gears out back.
As for the power, youd be MUCH better off just modding the engine. Theres 5 liters of displacement thats hardly even being used. The only real restriction with a 305 is the small bore which places some limitations on the size of I/E valve and lift you can run.
Some good heads, a modest cam, good induction and exhaust will really wake the motor up. A turbo setup with nothing else will still be slow. It'll also be totally undrivable if you dont switch the ECM to something better and tune it.
