Researching Good Combo
I have a 4400# 92Roadmaster wagon ,come springtime the L05 is gonna need a overhaul and I wanna do the LT1 cam swap at this time.So the question is do I have the swirl port heads freshened up with a valve job or is there a better stock head for my car?It is a daily driver and doesn' t really see 4000 rpm all that often. But that don't mean it won't with new cam.Currently it has CAI,cop car injectors,AFPR set at 13psi and 3.23 gears

Vortec heads & intake
Pro Products or Pro comp may have a vortec carb manifold/adapter on the cheap. I would not bother with valve job. what does you machinest charge for that?

Re: Researching Good Combo
My engine has died instead of fixining I am biting the bullet and rebuiding the entire thing
305 TBI LO3
head 14102187 need to go but with what
intake 14102189 will this still fit on the new head
what about a cam
I want to dress the engine compartment up but still to look original but more power than the 170 hp
Suggestions

Re: Researching Good Combo
Instead of fixing it your gonna rebuild it? Sounds like the same thing.
A cheap way to get good power out of a tbi car is swap over to a vortec 350. Put your tbi on it. Way better heads then anything from the early 90s on down. Read the stickies in the tbi section.
