What is the right MSD box to get to work with tbi?

Any like 6a and they have a harness to make an easier install. But you really don't need it... Ignition on these cars is great when maintained.

MSD also sells an adapter for distributor that feeds the remote blaster coil.

I read the GM module is retained? Is that true?

It does use stock module to trigger MSD box. I've never seen the adapter to blaster coil but they do have a direct bolt in MSD coil as well.

I have used the blaster coil on conversions with great results. Can't say the same for using MSD box with all other stock parts...

Cool, this saves me a post.... Does anyone know the part number for the msd coil for a tbi? I'm putting it in a 91, now with a 350 tbi not a 305 tbi... If that matters.

coil in cap? Summit has in catalog.

I have a used MSD wiring harness to connect the 6a series boxes to the stock design coil i'd be willing to sell to ya. PM me let me know.
