cfi help please?
Quick history- 83 T/A with crossfire fuel injection. I just recently change the fuel pump and when I tried to start it, fuel shot out of the top of the front throttle body. I guess the more info the better..the car was running fine until the fuel pump died and it sat for about 2 years, not sure if this is a factor.
I'm unfamiliar with throttle bodies and I'm not sure where to start. Any advice on what to look for would be amazing. Also any recommendations on books over cfi would be helpful. I have the haynes repair manual and the Pontiac Service Manual but neither really seems to go in depth on the crossfire.
Thanks in advanced

Re: cfi help please?
It sounds like either the rubber diaphragm on the fuel pressure compensator or an o-ring on the fuel injector pod failed.
If it hasn't ever been done in the last 30 years it would be a good idea to install a new gasket kit in the throttle bodies. Also check the throttle shafts for wear and get bushings installed if they're loose. This will cause rough idle and make it impossible to properly balance the throttle bodies.
