Re: BURNER2

It will read all stock chips IIRC but not burn any chip that needs UV erase...

Re: BURNER2

if this is tbi you should be using a 2732 uv. If your not wanting to get a uv programer pocket programer 2 or williams you can use a burn 1 or 2 and 29C256 or 27SF512 chip

I read that sticky on the tuning wrong... I thought in the traxions post it said for the 90-92 TBI and after rereading it says TPI, of course i bought 5 of the 27C256 EEPROMS. The 29C256 is the EEPROM version (the style that doesnt require the UV eraser) is what I need?

Re: BURNER2

Im looking at the 27C256's and some of them say - PC20,70 and 90. Whats the difference or does it matter which one I use?

from reading traxions (and yes I read it again) I thought the TPI set ups have to remove that memcal from the ECM not the TBI,

"If you have a TBI equipped F-Body then you do not need to worry about this because the EPROM plugs directly into the ECM; there is no MemCal. For you '86-'92 TPI owners, there are 3 ways around this. Each method is mentioned below along with pictures. A more detailed explanation of each method follows.?"

I was trying to avoid buying the UV eraser, I thought the EEPROMS erase themselves once you program them each time?? If not true I need the eraser to be able to use the burn 2?

Re: BURNER2

sorry, not sure what 27c256 your dealing with hopefully there not otp. I think amd made a flash 27c256 and sst but moates burn 1 and 2 does not support the reprograming of this. you should go with what is know to work and not try to reinvent the wheel.

Re: BURNER2

you're right, I need the 29C256 I typed it wrong on my last post, I purchased the 27's and not realizing that was for the TPI set up. My question is which 29C256 do I need, the PC20, 70 or 90 versions (on ebay it says 29C256-PC20/70/90 and I dont know what the difference is) Having the TBI set up, I need to do all the soldering? According to Traxions tune page the TPI set up is what you were describing not the TBI.

Re: BURNER2

you should really make your purchases through craig's site along with the g2 and show your support for someone who has made tuning more affordable and has had influence in software for tuners.

Re: BURNER2

If your using the G2 adapter it will take both chips or even run a 2732a
http://www.moates.net/g2-memory-adap...cing-p-36.html

I use the 27FS512
http://www.moates.net/c2-sst-27sf512....html?cPath=26

The writeup tuned preformance posted shows the other chip.

I wish everyone would support Moates!!! Even if you could buy a genuine SST 27FS512 chip somewhere else and save .50 cent or even a buck, it's not worth the chance of getting the wrong chip or a counterfiet. All those little 50 cent and dollars add up to keeping him in business to keep making us cool stuff!

He is a pioneer in GM EFI and hacking to get us to where we are today and gave away a lot of hard earned tech!!!

Same with RBob, look at all he has done for GM EFI!!! Buy an EBL!!!
