5.0 in 91 Vert intermittent stalling issue

Ok gang this is driving me crazy. 5 liter TBI all stock car runs fine and then at no apparrent rime or reason it will stall and die. When I try to restart, it stumbles, runs rough, and chokes itself out. If I try to feather the throttle or try to give it gas, it stalls. If I dont touch the accellerator, it will idle rough, erractic then die again. After about 5 minutes, it restarts and the car runs fine.

This has happened to me at least once a day over the last few days.

Code 54 - so I replaced FP relay on firewall. I also put new fuel filter in.

Any ideas? Seems to be fuel problem, but not sure.

Help!

Could be trash in the fuel tank clogging up the pump pickup. However, your issue could be caused by many things so it's hard to say exactly what it is that's causing it.

I would monitor FP under load. Ideally you would duct tape gauge on windshield and have passanger witness.

Re: 5.0 in 91 Vert intermittent stalling issue

ok here is what i have done over the last few days:
1) Changed gas caps
2) Installed new fuel filter
3) Cleared codes
4) Installed new FP relay
5) Cleaned IAC

Car only stalls and wont restart in the afternoon on the way home from work (approx 30 mile trip) and it is fine in the morning.. Crazy stuff!!!

Help!
