Got an odd one
So I just got a 91 firebird l03 auto the car idles fine but when I hit the gas the ses comes on and runs bad like it is missing. Then in 2 seconds or so the light goes away and runs fine, as you drive it goes back and forth.
So I have checked
Timing @ o
Fuel psi 14
Tps .58-4.48
Map, iac, esc, icm, air temp and all grounds are good
And I can not pull a code both my scan tool will not link and when I jump it I get me no codes
O and it has a jet stag 2 in it and the car is all stock
Any input would be helpful thanks Tyler

Re: Got an odd one
Check fuel pressure during idle and while it is stumbling. If the fuel pressure remains steady this would rule out fuel delivery issues for the most part. The other possibility is a bad dizzy - reluctor coil is intermittent or a stator has loose magnet. Pop the cap off and see if the base very rusty looking. Moisture accumulation inside dizzy is common due to clogged vents. Most of the times swapping in a rebuilt unit cures these mysterious stumbles, loss of power...

Re: Got an odd one
My camaro had this same exact problem, couldn't figure it out for the life of me. I ended up taking it to the dealer (been a diesel mechanic for over a decade so it was real hard to admit to myself I couldn't figure it out, swallowed my pride and took it in), they diagnosed it as a bad distributer. So I took it home and dropped in a brand new MSD unit, still same exact problem. (stupid dealership mechanic's, paid for a diagnosis and they just guess) I ended up going a totally different direction with the car, threw away the 305 and gutted the electronics (in the process of turning into a track only drag car) To this day that problem puzzles me and I still wonder what it could have been...Hope you find the answers, I'll be watching this closely!!
p/s: this was a few years back, wish I would've known about 3go at the time!!
