Re: anitfeeze leaking after intake change

mid way back under the car? leaking from the rear intake port area? was their a leak before you changed the intake?

Re: anitfeeze leaking after intake change

Water only runs through the front of the intake, not the rear. Leaks can travel away from thier originating point, but unless this car is parked with the front in a "way up" attitute, my guess is that the leak is somewhere else, like possibly the heater hoses.

Edit: Come to think of it, although the intake does not pass water, it does in fact seal the ports off from the rear of the heads. Potential for a leak there.

Re: anitfeeze leaking after intake change

no leaks until after i changed the intake .the car wasn't jacked up at all
i've worked on alot of cars but this a first for me to . was to dark last night to search for the problem so i jus thought i'd ask around . i guess if i didn't get it sealed up good it could be running back down thr tranny an dripping that far back . damn i hate to have to take this thing back off .

glad you fixed the misinformation. very likely that is the culprit. i put rtv around the water jacket ports because more often then not they are corroded and pitted.

Re: anitfeeze leaking after intake change

i pulled the intake again an put black rtv on both sides of the gasket around every hole por an a lot thicker on the ends . i read some where to let it setup for 24 hr before adding water an trying to run it . so we'll see tommmorrow .
it was leaking on the back end of the intake . guess i''ll change the oil in the morning also before starting it .lol
