Popular spark plug choice?
Winter has come so its tune up time, any suggestions on spark plugs? I was thinking the E3 but my father said he heard some bad things about those plugs. Anyone else have bad experience with E3?

I too was going to get some E3's but ive been a little skeptical about them, and a little pricey too....So in the end I went with the Accel shorty plugs, my car seems to like them and so do I. They run a little over $30 for a set of 8 at autozone.

IMHO a spark plug is pretty much a spark plug as long as you get the correct one for your car. Now if your running nitrous or boost it's critical to get the correct heat range but for a stock motor what ever they spec for the replacement is fine. I'm running Denso platinum twin tip plugs because I got them on sale for 1.99 a plug. I do like platinum plugs because they'll last longer than copper ones. NGK V power is a good plug as well. All the ones with multiple electrodes are really just a marketing gimick and not worth the $5+ a plug price to pick up just a few hp.

E3's have been proven in a lab situation that they burn more faster and completely than competitor plugs, but I'm skeptical in a working motor situation. Then you have to consider the cost factor if they are worth it to you. I would just stick with a good quality plug and change them whenever you feel the need.

I work at an automotive parts store and after the stories and whatnot that I've heard of the E3s I wouldn't put them in any vehicle motor. A weed-eater or lawnmower is a different story. I've always run the Accel Header Shorty plugs and all my motors run great with them. It makes it a little easier in a thirdgen as well!

ac delco copper are oe, champions would be fine, autolites wold be fine, platinum, iridium, would in theory last a little longer and spark a little better as they aged but its really all in how much you wanna spend, the laws of physics tell me the e3's 3 electrode design wouldn't do much
