IAC sticking shut

My car was having an unexplainable low idle so I pulled the air cleaner off and looked downthe little port above the iac and it was closed and wasnt moving and the was no suction when I put my finger over it and revved it up. So I stuck my little finger in there and pushed it back and it started sucking and the idle came up. the iac is onlt a couple months old. Anyone know why its doing this and how to make it stop?? Thank you in advance

Re: IAC sticking shut

1. Defective IAC.

2. Defective wiring.

3. Defective ECM.

5. Throttle blades open too far.

6. So stinkin' much varnish and crud that the IAC is seizing in the throttle body. Listed last because it's the least likely--by far.

If it was running great before put the last IACV in and are having the same problem, I would tend to believe it would be either the IACV is defective, or the wiring.

I wouldn't think the ECM or the Throttle blades have changed.. You need to clean the throttle body also from the sounds of it. If you have anyone who has a scantool and can read what the IACV is doing.. it should register anywhere from 0 - 255... After the vehicle is running it can be anywhere around 20ish to 40ish.. There is no exact number that I found but the lower the better as long as it isn't a high number. This will tell you what the IACV is doing..

Re: IAC sticking shut

the iac and the ecm are new, same problem before and after, i even threw in another iac to be sure that one wasnt defective, same thing, im beginning to think its fuel related, the pump has been making alot of noise here lately, as well as a louder than usual ticking coming from the tbi/injectors area
