Open Element Air Filter
Hey guys, just signed up on here because I bought a 1992 Camaro RS this past saturday. Everything is stock now and only has 60,000 miles, but I want to put an open element on it. looked around here quite a bit and searched some threads, but a lot of things were said for different kinds of filters. This is the one I will most likey be getting. http://www.rickscamaros.com/camaro-air-cleaner-assembly-open-element-crinkle-black-finish-with-bowtie-and-chevrolet-word-1967-1992.html I Also read things about the "golden plate" that restricts almost half of the airflow into the carb. I am just looking for a complete list of what I need to do or other parts I need to get. Do I need to worry about the MAP system (air density) or MAS (mass airflow sensor) when taking off the stock intake? What about vaccum lines?
Thanks

Re: Open Element Air Filter
If you can rig that air cleaner to fit, let me know how you did. When I tried to put mine on, it rubbed the ignition coil wires, and if i raised it up any higher it touched the hood, and the parts like the thread adapter and bowtie wingnut didnt fit right on the stud. So please let me know if you find a way to fit it on there.
